FAQ
1. Can anyone tan?
Certain skin types cannot tan, but anybody can get a
beautiful GLO with our airbrush tanning system. Our tanning
professionals can help you determine the type of tanning
that will suit your skin best. There are six basic skin types:
Skin Type 1: Always burns, never tans
Skin Type 2: Burns easily, tans slightly
Skin Type 3: Sometimes burns, tans gradually
Skin Type 4: Minimally burns, always tans
Skin Type 5: Rarely burns, tans deeply
Skin Type 6: Almost never burns, deeply pigmented
2. Why are lotions highly recommended?
Tanning without lotion will deplete your skin of the moisture
that it desperately needs. Indoor tanning lotions can help
stimulate melanin production - the skin's natural dark
pigment. Melanin production will make your skin tan quicker,
get darker, & last longer.
3. Do I need to make an appointment to tan?
No appointments are required for sunbeds. Airbrush tanning
requires an appointment and can be made for same day. Call us or click the BOOK NOW tab at the top of our site.
4. What is "don't go.... glo!"?
At Glo, we recognize that sometimes things happen and
you are unable to take advantage of our membership
package. If you need to put a "hold" on your unlimited
package - ask to be on our "don't go... glo! Program". We will
bill you only $10 per held month. Then, when you are ready
to come back to tanning, we will reactivate your account
without you having to repay the joining fee.
5. Is it okay to tan if I'm pregnant?
We recommend you get the "OK" from your doctor. But the
airbrush is always an option and "pregnancy safe".
6. Do I have to wear eye protection?
Yes, it is required by law in most states because the skin on
your eye lids are not thick enough to protect your eyes from
UV rays. We provide FDA approved eye protection in every
room at no charge, for your convenience. We also sell them
for your personal use and "Wink Ease" - disposable eye wear.
7. What should I wear in the tanning bed?
Each tanning bed is in it's own private room, so wear what
you are most comfortable in - or nothing at all.
8. How do I know the beds are clean?
We use proper FDA approved cleaning and disinfecting
solutions after every customer's tanning session. The
manager or owners would be glad to show you our solution
and disinfecting solution that is tested daily to ensure proper
sanitation.
9. Can I use outdoor tanning lotions/oils on your tanning beds?
No, the use of tanning lotions and oils for outdoor use will
discolor the acrylic surface and will destroy the effect of the
tanning bed. Also, due to their need to be waterproof, they
are not designed for easy clean-up or sanitizing.
10. How many times do I have to come to get tan?
We recommend 3-4 times per week to build your base tan &
1-2 times per week to maintain it. However, everyone will
vary. Ask our talented staff to assist you.
11. I was charged for a month I didn't tan. Can I be refunded?
All sales are final at Glo. When you sign up for the
unlimited membership package, you are responsible for the
monthly rate whether or not you utilize the service. If
you purchased a one month unlimited package, it is your
responsibility to use your package until the day that it
expires. You have the option of our don't go... Glo! program
or to come in and cancel your EFT before the next draft day.
12. Can I tan if I'm under 18?
Each state's laws vary. In Arkansas, any age can tan. But it is
required by law that a parent or legal guardian come in when
you sign up as a first time customer to sign the client release form if you're under 18.
13. Be safe & Tan Smart. It is important to do the following:
a. Wear lip balm with SPF in it. The lips do not produce
melanin. At Glo, we sell affordable SPF lip balms!
b. Always wear your provided eye wear ! Your eye lids will
absolutely not protect your eyes from UV damage. We offer
a selection of approved eye wear for you tho choose from.
c. When you are outside, use appropriate protection. The
sun is an uncontrolled way of tanning and burning will
increase your cancer risks.
d. Some medication and antibiotics can cause reactions with
UV light. Please check with your doctor if you are on any
medication before tanning.
